Patient

By participating in a clinical trial, you will be a part of helping new medicine to be approved by the FDA.  This will allow future patients to have access to treatments.

Patient

There are many benefits to clinical trials, including access to new drugs that are not on the market yet.  This means you will receive the latest medicine, with top oversight.  Unlike clinical trials in the past, today’s trials test the new treatment vs. standard of care, meaning you will not receive placebo.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who will oversee my overall care?

A urologist trained in clinical trials will oversee your medical care as it relates to your bladder cancer.  For any other medical conditions, you continue to see your usual healthcare provider.

Will I have to stay in hospital to participate in the study?

The CG Oncology clinical trial studies involve an outpatient procedure, and most patients will go home within a couple of hours of their appointment.

Will I be able to take my regular medications while participating in this study?

Please speak to your regular physician or urologist about any medications that you are taking.

What if I am pregnant or breastfeeding, or become pregnant during the study?

Participants who are pregnant or breastfeeding may not participate in the trial. In order to participate in the study, both men and women of child-bearing potential must follow highly effective birth control methods. If you become pregnant while on this study, the study drug will be stopped immediately and permission to collect information about the pregnancy until conclusion will be requested.

Can I stop participating in a study after it has begun?

We understand that unexpected things happen, however, we ask that you commit to staying on study and attend all of your appointments so that you receive thorough care during your treatment.

Will I have to pay for any part of the study, such as tests, procedures or the study drug?  Will my insurance cover these costs?

Your physician will be able to discuss, in detail, what is included in the study and what is not.  The treatment is provided by CG Oncology at no cost to you.
